During implementation of HAM Pro, we imported consumable assets into ServiceNow with a primary category that best reflected what they were (monitor, keyboard, mouse, memory, etc.). Now, as we go to purchase additional assets of the same exact models all of the newly procured assets are being brought into the consumables table with a primary category of 'consumable'. This difference in primary model category prevents the new and old inventory from being combined on the consumables table and they show as separate line items in the Stockroom views.
Should we have imported all of our existing assets with a primary category of 'consumable'? What is the significance of the 'consumable' model category? If we removed the consumable model category from those models (which would eliminate that category from being auto-selected), what would the impact be?
Is there a way to select what the primary model category of newly procured assets should be when receiving the item?
