Mobile Agent without HAM - Managing Assets and CIs

I am not having a lot of luck finding information in ServiceNow Docs or other posts in the Community.

Can the Mobile Agent app be used to manage CIs/Assets without having HAM (specifically for computers [laptops/desktops])? Ideally, we would like for our techs to be able to update computer CI and asset records on the go if they are not at a computer (i.e. updating states/statuses, updating assigned to and location, adding computers into our inventory via scanning, etc).

Any information that can be provided would be beneficial.

Thank you!

Currently in the exact same boat, just wondering did you come up with a solution.
For example can the ITSM Mobile Agent be extended to manage entries in alm_asset

Cheers.

Hi @kchapman87 and @Thomas Bohan

Here, you’ll find the features included in Core Asset Management, which is part of ITSM or CSM.

https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/it-asset-management/asset-management/agent-mobile-asset.html

The following training Mobile Hardware Asset Management Fundamentals will cover both Asset Mgmt. and HAMP mobile features and highlight the differences.

It can also be enabled on a PDI, I have done this in the past to explore it.

Hope this helps!

Nice one - will definitely check that out especially when I can test it against a PDI

Installed the app and hooked it to a PDI as you said and it works.
Big thing the core app is missing are the 2 features as per this table in the university training module:

Audits and Disposal scanning are not available in the core app.

Ideally I would like to update State, substate and location for assets (in particular for infrastructure kit) when away from the office.

Had a brief look at an app from the store called:
Asset Management (mobile app) - ServiceNow Store from https://leidit.com/

if anybody has experience with this I would like to know.
Cheers.
