Hi all,
I just started the Hardware Asset Management Fundamentals (Zurich) course and realize that there is no eBook available for it and that I am also not able to do any of the labs directly in the course. The labs are simply marked as complete as soon as I click on them and no content with the lab-details is shown.
Is there some possibility to get the eBook for this training course (usually it is automatically added to the inkling-library, but didn't happen here) or any other possibility to get the lab-details?

Hi @ArturD
There is no ebook available for HAM. To get prepare CIS- HAM, please rely on Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Fundamentals (Zurich)
For Lab instance, once you will enroll for the course , Lab Instance is available.
If you click on Lab,
You will get lab steps links as per below given screen ( If you are not getting, just refresh the browser, it would be loaded - chorme). Once you click, a pdf with Lab instruction will be downloaded.
Practice it. No validation is needed.

Hi @ArturD ,
The labs marking themselves complete is less of a bug than it looks. In the on-demand courses the lab tile usually doesn’t contain the steps; they live in the eBook, and you do them in the lab instance the course gives you. That’s how Admin Fundamentals on-demand works as well. So the real problem is the missing eBook, not the labs.
I’d do two things today rather than waiting:
- Search your inbox and spam for “Welcome to your ServiceNow Inkling Account” from learning@service-now.com. That’s how eBook access gets sent, and corporate mail filters often eat it. KB0012371 has the self-service steps, and from there you can reset your Inkling password and resend the welcome email:
https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/account-user-training-and-learning-credit-management/cannot-a... - Check that you got the email saying your lab instance is ready. The course page says the instance is created when you enrol, lasts two weeks and won’t be extended. That clock is already running, so don’t sit on this for a few days.
If no Inkling email ever arrived, raise a case through the ServiceNow University Help Center (https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/now-learning-help-center?id=nl_kb_home). Not every on-demand course comes with an eBook, so ask them directly whether the Zurich HAM release includes a lab guide and, if it doesn’t, where the lab steps are supposed to come from. Put your instance expiry date in the case so they understand the timing.
A PDI is fine for poking around HAM in the meantime. It won’t have the course’s demo data, though, so the lab steps won’t line up cleanly. I’d treat it as a backup rather than a substitute.
If this response helped, please mark it as correct and close the thread ✅ — it helps future readers find the solution faster.
Thanks

Many thanks Tanushree! Refreshing the browser resolved it. (here I would add a facepalm-emoji but unfortunately there is none available) 😂
