Software Asset Professional - Loading software entitlements without PPNs

Hi Community,

We are implementing SAMPro and are struggling with how to get our entitlements loaded into ServiceNow when we cannot match up to the Publisher Part Numbers.  I created a Software Entitlement and mapped to one of the publisher part numbers that seemed to be appropriate and allocated entitlements manually to the users that are approved to use the software.  While the Software shows compliant in the workspace, I am receiving a Remediation Option on the workspace and under License Metrics it says that Licenses required for the number of allocations I manually allocated the entitlement to.   The remediation says to remove allocations.  Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you from the SAMPro newbie!

Hi @Lisa23,

First of all, you posted in the HAM, not in the SAM board. 😉

Since you’re doing manual user allocations and can’t match PPNs:

- Create a PPN‑less entitlement specifically for your manual user licensing.

- Keep installs covered by install‑based entitlements (with PPNs or software models) separately.

- This keeps your manual process clean and avoids SAM’s auto‑remediation suggestions

Hope this helps!
