We are an institution where we do not have the HAM feature installed, but hopefully in the future.
I am looking for best practices on entering assets manually, particularly knowing the sequence of tables to enter data. Example: To enter a hardware record, which tables need information before, say, a monitor, can be added? Is there a diagram somewhere showing the relationship between the various hardware tables?
I feel we've been entering some data sporadically, not thinking logically.
Thank you, in advance!

Hi David,
Have you had chance to review some of the best practice documentation on MyNow?

In addition to platform foundation data, I'd suggest the following:
- Configure model categories based on your grouping/categorisation/reporting requirements
- Configure product models against manufactures based on your hardware estate. These will link to categories
- Load hardware assets into the hardware table
- Determine whether CI creation is required at this point.
In addition, if you're already populating the CMDB, you may already be creating assets. You'll need to reconcile existing data to ensure your CMDB and asset database are in sync and aren't resulting in duplicate values
