Can a PDF Fillable Form be generated for use in HR

We are using PDF Fillable Forms to generate a contract for a new employee and getting them to sign. We have generated the PDF Fillable Forms using Adobe, but the question has been raised asking if ServiceNow can generate the contents of the PDF Fillable Form based on set criteria for the new employee. e.g. adding the appropriate notice period based on the engagement.

Hi @rcook The document blocks are supported in the new Document Templates. These Advanced Forms (Document Templates) are entitled with HRSD Pro so this is a feature I recommend you consume to address the complex document construction you require.

Hi @rcook  The solution to your issue would be the Document Blocks feature. If you are familiar with the Knowledge Block functionality, this is very similar. This feature allows you to enter blocks into the document dynamically based on conditions. Here is a link to our docs site to give additional insight.

Thank you Mike,

I will look into this further. As we are generating employee contracts, that page has redirected me to Configure an HR document template (HTML)

Unless I am missing something, it does not look like HR Document Templates support Document Blocks. Document Blocks sounds like the sort of functionality I am after, it is just not available in HR.

Hi @rcook  there are some options but having the entire document fields generated dynamic can be a challenge. The HR Document Templates do have a Document Type function that allows you to dynamically apply the document based on conditions. The other option is to use the Advanced field mappings to apply conditions on how the fields are set. Again, not understanding the full use case I am just presenting some options on how this can be achieved. Keep us posted so we can help further if needed.

Hi Mike,

I am looking for something similar to what is available in Legal, where you can build a contract based on a set of clauses and then inject the new employees data. I have spoken to my accounts ServiceNow Solution Consultant and he has setup some time for me with a product specialist to delve into this in more detail.

Thank you for your response.
