Create a New Field to Add to specific HR Cases

I am looking for information on how to create a new field to add to specific HR cases. This field would be specific only to certain cases and would be entered by HR once the date is determined. These cases fall under a specific COE, however, this field would not need to be visible to all types of cases under the COE. 

 

I've looked at a few methods, but most of the solutions I have found do not apply to one or two specific cases.

Are you saying the new field is applicable to a few HR Services under the same HR COE?

 

First of all, I would consider creating the field on the base COE table.

Even if you think it's not needed on other COEs at the moment, things may change in the future. And if it does, you won't be able to use the same name to create a new field.

 

When you create a new field on a COE, it will be available in all HR services in the COE.

This behaviour cannot be modified but you can hide the field on specific HR Services only by modifying the HR Service configuration - https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-employee-service-management/page/product/human-resou...
