Hi All,
Can anyone share that how can we test the Journey management application and Manager Hub application on demo instance? I have already installed the plugins still the Journeys application is not appearing in Employee Center Pro. Any specific reason behind the same or in case I'm missing on something?
Also kindly confirm that does applications like Now Assist, Journey Management, Manager Hub needs any purchase from ServiceNow store?
Thanks

ServiceNow – Testing Journey Management & Manager Hub in a Demo Instance
Issue:
You’ve installed the required plugins (e.g., Journey Accelerator, Manager Hub) in a demo or personal developer instance, but the “Journeys” application doesn’t appear under Employee Center Pro (ECP). You also want to know if these applications — Now Assist, Journey Management, Manager Hub — require a separate purchase.
---
1. Understanding Licensing & Availability
Not all Employee Experience (EX) applications are automatically included with standard demo or developer instances.
- **Journey Management**, **Manager Hub**, and **Now Assist** are **licensed products** available only under specific **Employee Experience Pack / HRSD Enterprise tiers**.
- In PDIs (Personal Developer Instances) or standard demo instances, **you can install the plugins**, but **data sources, workspaces, and roles** that drive these apps might not activate unless your instance has the correct **subscription entitlements**.
✅ Confirm Licensing Requirements:
| Application | Requires License | Depends On |
|--------------|------------------|-------------|
| **Journey Management** | ✔ Yes (part of HRSD Enterprise / EX Pack) | Employee Center Pro, HR Service Delivery |
| **Manager Hub** | ✔ Yes (EX Pack) | Journey Management, HRSD, EC Pro |
| **Now Assist for HRSD** | ✔ Yes (AI entitlement) | HRSD Enterprise / AI add-on |
| **Employee Center Pro (ECP)** | ✔ Yes | Platform license for portal and experiences |
---
2. Why Journeys Don’t Show Up in Employee Center Pro
Even with plugins installed, the Journeys UI may not appear because:
- The **experience component (UI Builder page)** for “Journeys” is not automatically mapped to your Employee Center Pro portal.
- The **required roles** (`sn_hr_automation.journey_admin`, `sn_hr_automation.journey_user`, etc.) are missing from your user.
- The **sample data** (Journey Templates, Activities, Activity Sets) isn’t loaded.
- The **page routing / navigation menu** for ECP hasn’t been updated to include the “My Journeys” component.
---
3. How to Test Journey Management on a Demo Instance
If your instance allows plugin activation:
1. **Install Required Plugins (in order):**
- `com.sn_hr_core`
- `com.sn_hr_journey_accelerator`
- `com.sn_hr_lead_experience` (for Manager Hub)
- `com.sn_employee_center_pro`
2. **Assign Roles:**
- `sn_hr_automation.journey_admin`
- `sn_hr_automation.journey_user`
- `sn_hr_lead_experience.manager` (for Manager Hub)
- `sn_hr_core.hrsm_admin`
3. **Load Demo Data (if available):**
- Navigate to **System Definition > Load Demo Data** for HR modules.
- Check if “Journey Management Sample Data” is available; load it.
- Verify tables: `sn_hr_automation_journey`, `sn_hr_automation_activity`, `sn_hr_automation_activity_set`.
4. **Add Journeys to Employee Center Pro:**
- Go to **Experience > Employee Center Pro > UI Builder**.
- Open the **“My HR Portal”** page or **Home Page**.
- Add a new component → Search for **Journeys** or **Journey List** component.
- Save and publish.
5. **Verify User Experience:**
- Impersonate a user with the Journey role.
- Go to the Employee Center Pro portal (`/now/ecp`).
- You should see a “My Journeys” card or link.
If you don’t see the UI components, your instance likely lacks the **Experience assets** tied to HRSD Enterprise entitlement.
---
4. Testing Manager Hub
Manager Hub depends on both **Journey Management** and **HR Service Delivery**.
To test it:
- Ensure `com.sn_hr_lead_experience` is active.
- Assign yourself `sn_hr_lead_experience.manager` and `sn_hr_core.hrsm_manager` roles.
- Navigate to `/now/lead` or search **Manager Hub** in Application Navigator.
- If blank, check UI Builder → open the Manager Hub experience page and verify it's published.
---
5. Testing Now Assist (AI features)
“Now Assist” (for HRSD, ITSM, or CSM) uses **ServiceNow Generative AI Controller**.
You cannot fully test it in PDIs unless you have:
- AI entitlement via **ServiceNow AI Controller** subscription.
- Proper environment configuration pointing to ServiceNow’s LLM backend (not exposed in PDIs).
Without those entitlements, Now Assist UI elements may appear, but actual AI responses won’t function.
---
6. Summary Table
| Feature | Available in PDI | Requires Paid License | Workaround |
|----------|------------------|-----------------------|-------------|
| Employee Center (basic) | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | Use “Employee Center” plugin |
| Employee Center Pro | ⚠ Partial | ✔ Yes | Request access or use demo HR instance |
| Journey Management | ❌ Limited | ✔ Yes (HRSD Enterprise) | Use screenshots or demo videos |
| Manager Hub | ❌ Limited | ✔ Yes (EX Pack) | Create mock data via UI Builder |
| Now Assist (AI) | ❌ No | ✔ Yes (AI entitlement) | Not available in PDIs |
---
7. Best Practice for Demonstration or Learning
If you want to test or showcase Journeys / Manager Hub:
- Request a **ServiceNow Partner Demo Instance** or **Customer Demo Instance** from your partner portal — these have full EX entitlements.
- Alternatively, watch **ServiceNow’s official demo videos** and **Now Learning HRSD Advanced courses**, which include interactive labs preconfigured with the correct licenses.
---
✅ **Key Takeaway**
- Installing the plugin is not enough — **Journeys**, **Manager Hub**, and **Now Assist** require specific **HRSD Enterprise / Employee Experience Pack licenses** and **roles**.
- In PDIs or unlicensed demo instances, you can **preview components in UI Builder** but **cannot run full experiences**.
- For testing, use a **ServiceNow demo instance with EX entitlements** or coordinate with your **partner/customer success manager** to provision one.
