Hi Nikhitha,

Is it possible that those are 2 different versions of the same article number and it's possible that someone has completely changed everything in different versions.

You can find article versions in the related list below the article form.

Hi @nikhitha24

This can happen as the number field is not unique for KB. You can refer below documentation,

https://docs.servicenow.com/en-US/bundle/utah-platform-administration/page/administer/field-administ...

Thanks,
Anvesh

hello Article numbers are not unique, although the number is same they can have different sysID, they could have beenimported from lower instance and another one could have been created directly in Prod. to eliminate duplicate number you can follow servicenow recommendation below or you can have a before insert BR on KB table to check and abort submission

https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB1220880

Hi @nikhitha24

Please check in the lower Instances, by mistake, Exported/Imported the article from non-prod to Prod.

Thanks,
