HI,
We have a requirement to add Polish and Japanese as supported languages for Knowledge Articles and myHelp Language Preferences.
The requirement is that Knowledge Authors should be able to create, manage, and publish Knowledge Articles in Polish and Japanese. Users should also be able to select Polish or Japanese as their preferred language and view the corresponding Knowledge Articles when available.
Can someone please help me understand how we can configure or enable Polish and Japanese language support for Knowledge Articles and myHelp Language Preferences in ServiceNow?
Thank You,
Pritiranjan Nayak

ahoy @PritiRanjaN,
do you want to just enable translations of the articles or you want to give your users chance to select the languages and have everything translated to it? E.g. field labels, modules, etc..
There are many language packs (JP, PL included) and you can install it, go to plugins and search for "polish", "japanese" or "I18N" to get this:
It will bring the translations to the platform, for example "short description", "priority", "assignment group",... these kind of things will be translated but if somebody writes something in Portuguese and you want to be automatically translated to Polish, then this will not help.
Let me know if this is what you were looking for

@PritiRanjaN and based on the packs installed, you will have more options for the Knowledge articles to be selected per Language:
This gives you just the value in the field and allow you to create an equivalent in different languages but you will still need a professional who will provide the translated text, keep in mind that it's NOT TRANSLATED AUTOMATICALLY
It's possible but by a different method

Hi,
Thanks for checking!
For our story scope, we only need Option A—enabling Knowledge Article translations and allowing users to view/search those articles in Polish and Japanese on the myHelp portal.
We do not need the full platform UI translated (like backend modules, field labels, or ITIL forms).
Appreciate your help!

@PritiRanjaN installing the related language packs is what you need to do then.
Also, it's a part of localisation so it might create relevant aspects such as Japanese Yen or Polish Zloty in the currency table, so ensure that you deactivate it if not needed.
Perhaps you might want to check it in your PDI first, plugin cannot be uninstalled but the activated languages can be deactivated if needed.
