Unable to publish banner content to the new Agent Workspace for HR - Location not available

Our organization is implementing the new Agent Workspace for HR plugin and we are exploring the new features. One feature in particular is the ability to publish content from the Content Publishing functionality to the HR Workspace homepage. From the demo data, it looks like this:

But I am not able to replicate any of the published demo announcements or quick links.

I tracked down the Content record for the "It's tax season!" announcement:

When I open it and view the publishing schedule, I can see that it's been published to the Location of UIB Workspace:

But when I create a new portal banner content of my own and open the Location field, I only see "Service Portal" as an option and do not see "UIB Workspace" as an option. This was done as a Sys Admin and I tried multiple variations on the name and found nothing. I also tried changing my scope to "Agent Workspace for HR" with no success.

According to the documentation, this location should be available for selection as I have the Agent Workspace for HR plugin installed:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-employee-service-management/page/product/employee-ce...

LocationWhere you want your content to appear. Your choices are:
  • Service Portal
  • Mobile (for News articles only)
  • Workspace: Requires the Human Resources Scoped App: Workspace (com.sn_hr_agent_workspace) plugin to be activated.

What am I missing? Thanks!

Hi @Jesse Jones,

I don't know if this is intentional or a system defect, but seems like you can't set the Location to UIB Workspace from the content library UI.

Instead, you can create/modify the schedule record directly in the Schedule Content [sn_cd_content_visibility] table.

e.g.

I would recommend raising a Support case as well to see if it's indeed a system defect.

Cheers

Thanks, James. I was able to get my content posted to the workspace using this backdoor approach.

I will create a support ticket to investigate why the intended method isn't working right.

Did you create a ticket and get some sort of response from ServiceNow?   Beyond this issue, and the fact that the typical content editor only wants to use the content library, it is a bad user experience for them.  One has to guess of which content types can even be used.  The UI policies exclude UIB for content types such as rich content, for example.  But, also - the fact that the UIB widgets on that landing page or a bit misleading also does not help.  The Announcements aren't really announcement records, the quick links aren't really quick link type records, and the apps are not web apps.  It's all just pulling from the allowed content library types/content and categorized accordingly for these widgets.

@Jesse Jones  Did you create case and got any response?
