Sometimes you need a video that explains a topic in detail. Other times you just want a quick overview.
Here at ServiceNow, we've tried to make it easy for you to find exactly the video you need. Below are some tips that will help you find what you are looking for, whether you are a beginner who just needs the basics, or an experienced user who wants advanced information.
1. Use the channel search.
You are probably familiar with YouTube's global search.
But did you know there's another search with allows you to find content within a channel? You can access it by navigating to the channel home page (in our case ServiceNow Demo - YouTube). Click the magnifying glass below the channel name, and a small search box appears.
Now that you know where to search, I will explain what to search.
2. If you want a high-level application overview, search for "demo" or "getting started."
These videos explain what the application does and why it is helpful, and demonstrate some of the included tools.
Here is an example of an application demo: ServiceNow Service Creator Demo - YouTube
3. If you want to know how a feature or application works, search for "introduction" or "overview."
Videos whose titles include "introduction" or "overview" explain how features and applications work, in more detail than the high-level demos mentioned above. We often include an introduction as the first video in a troubleshooting series to explain how an application works when it is operating correctly. This provides a point of reference and helps you identify and resolve issues.
Here is an example of an introductory video: Introduction to the ServiceNow Mail Properties Page - YouTube
4. If you have a problem you need to fix, search for "troubleshooting."
Videos that contain "troubleshooting" in the title explain how to diagnose and resolve issues.
Here is an example of a troubleshooting video: Troubleshooting Outbound Email Part 6 of 6: Advanced Topics - YouTube
5. If you really want to go in depth, search for "tutorial."
We try to keep our videos as short as possible. However, sometimes when we want to do a deep dive, we create longer, more detailed videos. Those titled with the word "tutorial" are longer than 15 minutes and are very detailed.
Here is an example of a tutorial: Contract Management Tutorial - YouTube
