Need Guidance on ServiceNow–Microsoft Teams Integration for MIM Implementation and Notifications

Hi ,

We are implementing Major Incident Management (MIM) in ServiceNow and want to integrate it with Microsoft Teams for real-time notifications.

Requirements:

  • How to implement MIM?
  • When a Major Incident is created or updated in ServiceNow, a notification should post to a Teams channel.
  • All updates (status changes, work notes, comments) should flow through Teams automatically.

Questions:

  1. Is IntegrationHub mandatory for this setup?
  2. We currently have Microsoft Teams Communications Spoke and Microsoft Teams Graph Spoke – are these sufficient for the integration?
  3. Which approach is recommended?
  4. Any sample configurations, scripts, or architecture diagrams for posting incident updates to Teams?
  5. Best practices to avoid duplicate notifications and ensure clear message formatting?

Has anyone implemented this successfully? Please share your experience, tips, or pitfalls to avoid.
