Hi Venkat,
Please refer this link, https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/xanadu-platform-user-interface/page/use/navigation/reference/...
Dot walking basically helps you to navigate to a related field in the condition builder. If you want to select a field called user's phone number, which is in the user table. You select user first and scroll down to the "Show related fields". There you can find the user's phone number. This is one example of Dot walking.
It will look like the following, .user>>user's phone number.

Hi @venkatnv1
Dot-walking allows direct scripting access to fields and field values on related records. For example, the NeedIt table has a reference field called Requested for. The Requested for field references records from the User [sys_user] table. Reference fields contain the sys_id of the record from the related table.

Hi @venkatnv1 ,
As @Manasa Reddy Li already have mentioned, dot-walk is the reference between tables, where you can got fields, logic etc from related fields. This is not something that you need to configure for incident table as it comes straight out of the box.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards
