Inbound Email Actions with script to set u_category

I have been trying to write a script in Actions to set the Category for the incident record created from an incoming email but no success.

 

If I specify current.u_category='sysid' it creates a duplicate incident with the same INC number.

If I specify current.u_category='parent>child', the field value is not inserted in the field Category which is a Reference field.

 

Any advice from anyone?
