invalid password?

After logging out or letting a developer session lapse, when I try to log in again to my developer instance (dev68618) I get an error saying my password is invalid (it isn't).  This has happened multiple times (sometimes resolves itself later) so today I was very deliberate in resetting the password for the umpteenth time, and verified everything was ok before letting the session lapse.  But once again the error recurred... and often when it happens I'm sent into a password reset loop or even blocked from resetting it outright for a while.

I see other users reporting similar problems so this sounds like something systemic to me... is this being worked on?  Can we get SSO?

For reference: this is with the latest Firefox browser.  I am completely unable to get the developer instance to work on IE or Edge (loaded pages are blank).

Looks like you were trying to log in to your personal developer instance with your email address as the username. This won't work unless you created a user account on the instance with that username (doesn't look like that's the case).

Also, when you reset admin password on your instance (from the Action menu on the My Instance page on dev portal),  password is reset for the account with username admin on the instance.

I wasn't deliberately trying to do that: I just logged in to the dev site with email user name and proceeded from there as described in my last post.  I can't even get to a dev instance login, nor can I create a new one (apparently the original one expired while all this was going on)

Hi Randall,

Are you able to login to your developer.servicenow.com?

yes.  And in fact whatever was preventing me from creating a new instance cleared up on its own today, and I was finally able to do so.
