Hi Community,

We have a requirement to discover GOANYWHERE (FORTA Publisher) software under the Software Installation tabs for both computers and servers. With the out‑of‑box (OOB) setup, this software is not being discovered.

When we raised a case, we were informed that ServiceNow Discovery typically identifies software installed via rpm or dpkg packages. However, GOANYWHERE is installed using shell scripting and can be detected using es-pf commands.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Could you please share the steps or best practices to configure ServiceNow Discovery so that GOANYWHERE can be detected properly?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @pavani_paluri,

The procedure below can help populate the GOANYWHERE [FORTA] in the software installation table.
1. Create a Process Classification and a Pattern for the GOANYWHERE application.
2. Then add an entry in the "Software Installation Name Mappings" table with the details below.
a. Product as "GOANYWHERE"
b. Publisher as "FORTA"
c. Classname as "Table selected using the Pattern creation".
3. Then add the pattern created above to the Pattern Pre/Post Scripts "Sync Installed Software".

Thanks,

Nimish Vaibhav.

Hi @Nimish Vaibhav ,

I tried that approach but I am not able to see "Process" option on identification step in pattern. I have checked all prerequisites but still option is not visible.

Thanks,
