AIOps Experience

Let's talk about the AIOps Experience, the latest and greatest from ITOM Health! As part of the ITOM Health 23' Q3 store release, the AIOps Experience was presented as a new app in the ServiceNow Store, featuring the capabilities of Express List, Integrations Launchpad, and AIOps Dashboards. The ITOM Health user experience has been transformed through these new features, that are available in the Service Operations Workspace.

If you already got to use the Express List and Integrations Launchpad capabilities while they were in the innovation lab, I am very excited to show you all the new features that have been added since!

In this multi-part series, I will be walking you through each of the capabilities of AIOps experience. In this blog I will go over Integrations Launchpad.

Integrations Launchpad

Integrations Launchpad simplifies the admin experience by making it easy to introduce new integrations to the platform for ITOM Health and manage and monitor existing integrations. And I almost forgot to mention, you can do all of this with no code!

The Set Up

In the Service Operations Workspace, when a user is setting up a new integration, they can first navigate to the Browse Integrations page and use to search bar to see if the integration available out of the box (OOTB). If the integration is available, then fantastic news, there is a guided setup specifically for that integration! There is no longer a need to rely only on SMEs to setup these integrations, as we provide straightforward step-by-step instructions for these sources.

However, what happens if the integration that you want to setup is not OOTB? We have that covered too.

Creating Webhooks

You may have noticed the card for Custom Connector (Webhook), obviously that is not the name of an integration and I will explain what it is. If the integration is not supported OOTB, we still made it easy for you to set up. In the same search bar, you can search up Custom Connector (Webhook) for a guided setup for any 3rd party source that is not OOTB. During setup, you can name the connector, add an icon, create alert tags associated with the connector, and choose how the events are sent to the instance.

Then we ask for a sample JSON payload from the source, which is analyzed to find all the available source fields that can be used for mapping. Using the fields identified from the payload, those fields are provided in a dropdown menu so that they can be selected when mapping to Event Management fields – specifically for severity, then we suggest other fields that you should probably map but are not mandatory.

Once setup is complete on instance side, an API URL is automatically created for connecting the new webhook to the instance. That all for setup on the instance side, easy right?

Now that you have all your integrations setup, you should probably keep an eye on them to make sure that they are running as expected. In the Installed Integrations page of Integrations Launchpad, you can see all integrations - active, inactive, and drafted and as needed, integrations can quickly be activated, deactivated, and deleted. Key information is also available for all integrations depending on integration type, which includes logs or events per minute, last received log or event, number of active agents, and if there is no data being received.
