We are thinking of moving the server discovery from our JEA based Discovery to the ACC-V. However, I can't find any documentation if it is possible to get the data also into our quality instance. This would be essential for some use cases we have.
So the question is: If you use ACC-V can you only get the data into your production CMDB or can you also get the same information into your subprod instances? I was not able to find any documentation how this could be done.

You can get the data into any instance you point the agent to. However you cannot have one agent report to two different instances. What you might consider is having a subset of agents in a dev environment for live testing and everything else into prod.

Thanks for your reply!
So would it be possible to install 2 clients on each machine in order to get the data into PROD and QUAL? Does this make sense at all? Is nobody having the challenge to have the CMDB on PROD and QUAL in a comparable state?

No, it is not currently supported or feasible to have multiple agents on a single host...

Hi Christian,
We are looking at a couple of ACC deployments also and this is not something that I had thought about, but I can see that it may well be an issue.
Ideally, every server should be in you prod CMDB including any non-prod (although not all use cases call for it), so although it may allow for some discovery testing in a sub-prod environment, I'd generally prefer not to have some servers only reporting to a sub-prod environment and never appearing in PROD - BUT it is a valid option given the current contraints of the agent.
I guess if you had IDR, you could replicate the discovered CI's from prod back to you sub-prod environment which ticks the box if you just need the CI's in that environment, BUT it does not help if you want to be able to test any updates to your agent settings in a sub-prod environment before deploying them your prod instance. Downside of that is that you would have to license IDR.
Sorry, not super helpful, but thanks for asking the question - gives me some time to figure it out before we get too far down the track.
Regards,
David
