Agent Client Collector in multiple instances

We are just starting to test Agent Client Collector and have a question about how we will test deployments in the future.

It appears that the ACC agent can only connect to a single ServiceNow instance. 

What is the recommendation for testing after all devices are pointed to the production instance?

Temporarily point some devices to the sub-prod instance?

Have a dedicated set of devices that are always pointing to the sub-prod instance?

Or am I missing a setting that allows the agent to connect to multiple instances?

That reads like the right play, have some testing hosts that point to dev and the rest to prod.
