Hi Salu,

You need to use a LOCAL admin account in the target instance to perform a clone, you cannot use LDAP / ADFS credentials to request a clone of an instance.

below is the documentation on how to request a clone, see step 11:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/madrid-platform-administration/page/administer/managing-data/task/t_StartAClone.html

I Hope this helps.

Regards

Nic

You are trying to clone from production over test?  And you configured a new clone target which is your test environment?  Can you double check you have the correct target and you have the right password for that target?  And caps lock is off 🙂

I am having this same problem. I am trying to clone from PROD to TEST, the target instance is already configured (am I supposed to recreate this with each new clone?) and I am receiving the same error as above. I can login to the instance without error, and have verified I have the admin role in all instances.

Any assistance would be helpful.

I set a default password and them used that pasword to login and it worked for me

I was able to create a local account in the target instance, assign it admin role, and use these creds to complete my clone request. I'm more concerned about why it will not accept my own creds.
