Bulk data import to CMDB CI tables

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to get some answers to the below question:

Does ServiceNow allow for bulk data imports into the CMDB CI tables? I am wondering if the system allows for the ability to bulk import data directly into CMDB CI tables in order to facilitate the loading of conceptual data.

Have you checked about import sets in servicenow

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-platform-administration/page/administer/import-sets/reference/import-sets-landing-page.html

Please mark my response as correct and helpful if it helped solved your question.

Hello, Depending on your access permissions, yes you can manually import from spreadsheets, CSV, etc. Look at any CI table /class in list view. In header on tables, right click and see options for importing and export.. Does this help?

Hello Dave,

Does this require said user to have the "admin" role?

No I don't believe so, but ITIL or something similar, or custom access to the table.... Is certainly required...

Be careful about just opening up the CMDB to population from what I presume will be CSV files or something similar. A CMDB should have process and governance around what is stored and maintained in a CMDB Opening it up for imports quickly leads to stale and erroneous data.

I agree 100%. Manual imports should be last resort, or for non-production use cases. Loading data this way isn't a best practice for config management.
