Clone preservers for Discovery and Service Mapping?

We are having 3 instances - DEV, STG, and PROD.

Currently we are working on Discovery and Service Mapping project - Still WIP in in DEV only, but we got an urgent requirement to clone PROD over DEV in order to do the Instance Upgrade

So how to deal this situation? (The Discovery + Service Mapping plugins and data is not in PROD yet)

Hello,

You can attempt to export as much as you can via XML, but the clone will override your Dev instance in regard to those plugins. Then after the clone and plugin activation, you can import those XML records.

Additionally, you can attempt to submit a case to SN and see if they will copy your Dev instance to a temp instance to house it, so that you can reference your work there after the clone takes place and work to get your Dev instance back to where it was.

Obviously, communication is best and the clone would need to be held...or your Discovery/Mapping efforts would have been sped up to meet the timeline, but since this was an urgent request, it probably didn't align well.

Either way, please reference what I've mentioned above, else there's nothing else that can really be done if the clone needs to take place now.

Take XML export table wise if your configurations are not part of an Update SET.

Mid Server Table

Credentials Table

Discovery Schedules table. 

Service Mapping entry Point tables.

Even if discovered data is lost because of Clone you can rerun it using ablve backups.

As suggested by Allen - Request Service now for 4 temp Instance and follow as suggseted.
