There is no such standard until your network teams, windows teams, etc follow those. Yes data model is in place and we have classes in CDMB which specifies which type of ci this is.
Names can be common in different classes right for example window machine and the VM instance can share same name but the logical class is different.
Your teams and Configuration manager should have a guideline and Data model in place to update and create CI.
