Can someone confirm my comments below are correct? If I am incorrect, can you please add comments?
"CPU count" represents the number of CPUs (sometimes referred to as processors or sockets).
"CPU core count" represents the number of cores per CPU.
Thus, if I want to know the total number of cores seen by an OS, I need to multiply "CPU count" x "CPU core count".
The above statements are true for physical and virtual discovered computers.
The above statements are true for Windows, Linux, Solaris, and ESX.
Thanks.
