All,
I have a requirement to discover the last date that an ESX server has been rebooted. However, based on our testing it seems like ESX server information is taken directly from vCenter and the server itself is not accessed. When on a shell prompt on the ESX server, getting the last reboot date does not that difficult. The problem seems to be that we would need to get credentials directly on the ESX server AND maintain a list of ESX servers to be discovered. This seems like a significant amount of maintenance to get this date.
Has anybody been successful on getting the Last Reboot Date directly from VMWare?
Has anybody determined a different way to get this data?
Thanks

I have not tried this requirement but you can explore thru - Standalone Discovery of ESXi Server (https://docs.servicenow.com/en-US/bundle/vancouver-it-operations-management/page/product/discovery/r....
Seems Probe Customization is needed (VMWare - Standalone ESXi Server) and then Sensor which will process the newly added data.
This customization seems more complex as ESX do not use direct Patterns as of now.
