Has anyone experienced an issue with the Discover Now UI action on the Computer class form? When I launch the UI action, I get the message, "Can't discover CI because this IP address is not found in any Discovery schedules". This could be the case since we are using range sets and IP subnets instead of specific IP addresses. As a test, I created a new schedule that had the IP address of the workstation listed as a Discovery Item IP. The same message was generated.
Thanks.
Rick

The Discover Now button only works if the Computer has an IP Address on the CI IPs Related List. This related list builds a list of IP's based on the Network Adapters and any IP's related to them. If the computer in question is missing this information, you cannot click on Discover Now.
The UI Action expects this data to be there in order to find the proper schedule that the CI belongs to in order to kick-off Discovery from the right MID server.

Tony,
Is it possible to put the Discover Now UI Action as a list banner form on the computers list and make it work? I've try to do that but it errors out.
Thanks,
John

What version of Service Now are you using, likewise what mid-server version are you using?

Along these lines, does anyone know how to trigger a quick discovery of a computer CI from a UI action? This would be a lot more useful to me when I'm looking at CIs.
