Discovery filter classes

Hi All,

Do anyone have idea about discovery filters which we need to put in place as I noticed from an overall of 11 servers in our environment, I see that by default 450 CIs are getting created. Thanks in advance!!

Best Regards

Hi Kumar,

Take a look at this thread and see if it is of any use

If you are looking at filtering at the ITSM level (Incident, Problem, Change) then Id look to reference Qualifiers .   OOB the affected CI field looks down cmdb_ci which will show all CIs.. In using reference qualifers you can get that down to the hardware level (or application) depending on your needs...

Not sure if that answers what you are looking for so please let us know if you can provide more detail..

Doug, my question is about how to stop creation of the following CI Classes which we don't need them to populate through discovery.

Switch Forwarding Rule

Switch Partition

Next Hop Routing Rule

Exit Interface Routing Rule

Memory Module

Oh, thats easy!

These can all be 'disabled' by removing the appropriate probes from the classifiers (don't delete, just click edit and slide it out..)..

But understand what you are going to be missing out on primarily Layer2/3 relationships!
