Entry point in Service mapping

We want to try discover some servers using service mapping discovery patterns but How can I add the server ipaddress /host name as a new entry point.

Correct, Service Mapping leverages the existing Discovery technology for the host discovery portion. All hosts are discovered via Shazzam, classify, identification, and exploration phases and all applications are identified using patterns. There is a shift going on now to merge these technologies to all use patterns. Some effort was done in Helsinki and more will be done in Istanbul. For now however when you discover a business service in Service Mapping, host CI's are discovered with Discovery technology, and apps are discovered using Service Mapping patterns. You can verify this when you run Service Mapping discovery, view the Discovery Status (Status module), and you should see a discovery status record created. Note that discovery of the host only occurs as long as the host is not in the CMDB. If the host is in the CMDB, it will only run the patterns to identify the applications and its outgoing connections. The host CI's would have to be rediscovered based on Discovery schedules.

Hi,

Under Service Mapping go to Business Services. Create a new one and enter basic details. Then Click New next to Entry points.

Hi,

After you follow the steps that Kevin outlined above, if you're just entering in a specific server then you may want to use the TCP entry point type.

Sorry for replying to an old thread, but I'm unfortunately not seeing what your screenshot shows. Any idea what's going on here?
