Failure on 'Test credential' for Discovery SSH credentials

Hi,

I have set up my SSH credentials for a specific Linux IP address for my Discovery.
When I click on "Test credential", I get the error message "Authentication failed".

User and password are 100% correct.
I have enabled mid.ssh.debug to true and mid.log.level to debug in MID server config paramaters.

How can I investigate this problem to find the reason for failure?

Hi Kris,

If you have access to Mid Server host, they you directly check in Agent logs file and check the logs, if not you can check from ServiceNow instance by "Grab Mid Logs" and check for agent payload or logs from Related List "Agent Logs".

take remote on Mid server and try a SSH session for same IP using same creds

See if it works.

@Rahul Priyadarshy could you elaborate, I'm not sure what you mean by 'take remote on mid server'

login to mid server host itself - If its windows Machine RDP (remote desktop session) will work .

Now from Mid Server Host itself try to have PUTTY Session for ur corresponding Linux /Unix Host.
