Hello,
We are trying to add VCenter credentials for Discovery. We have VMware credentials already set up, how to add/extend credentials for Vcenter?

Hello Rahul
Thank you for this article. Can you confirm if we can use the same credentials for VMware and Vcenter(as the type available is: VMware). Or if we add 2 different credentials for them.

I've just recently discovered vCenter and it's related ESX's for the first time. You need two or three sets of credentials:
- Windows Credentials (an admin service account) configured on the vCenter host server
- VMWare credentials configured with read-only role and License Admin privilege in vCenter
- You may or may not need CIM credentials on the ESX's. I've found that I've been able to discover some with just vCenter creds, although others have needed CIM, no idea why.
The ServiceNow docs say that you shouldn't need Windows credentials if you have valid vCenter credentials configured correctly, however in my experience this isn't the case.
You also need these ports open:
- vmapp6_https: 9443
- vmapp_https: 5480
Seeing an error relating to no access to /sdk on the vCenter host is a good indication that the VMWare credentials aren't configured, so look at for those when vCenter classification runs.
I hope this helps.
Mike
