Issue while installing NMAP

I want to enable credential less discovery hence trying to install NMAP in MID Server using "Enable credential-less discovery" related link. But getting an error "verify-nmap : Timeout: Unable to verify Nmap installed version" and "The process cannot access the file 'nmapInstaller.exe' because it is
being used by another process."

I also tried to install NMAP manually as per Product Documentation. But the Powershell script "NmapInstallation.ps1" is not running.

Please let me know how can I resolve this issue.

Debjit

Hi @DebjitGhosh31

Just a heads up in case you are unaware, the credential less would not bring you enriched CI experience and would be very minimal.

Unless you have some hard restrictions or security concerns over adding credentials to SNOW instance, you should not try this for a solid discovery experience.

But, on your issue stated above, I couldn't help much. Try some basic restarting the mid and VM also if required and see.

Hi Sid,

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I know, But I am trying to perform Service Mapping and NMAP installation in MID Server is one of the prerequisites for that. Hence trying to install NMAP.

Hi @DebjitGhosh31

Ok, but it is not a blocking stuff, they might have added as a generic prerequisites, you can go ahead with your actual disco if you have creds for your service that you intend to discover.

Hi @SiD2 ,

I already tried, It is showing an error on the first server "Nmap installation error. Nmap is not installed on MID Server. Verify all MIDs configured to handle selected IP Address have Nmap Capability" (Able to perform quick discovery on the server)
