Large Number of Duplicates in CI Relationship Table

Hello Experts,

When i have made a report on CI relationship Table for the Linux and Windows servers to identify the "Oracle Database Server" I have seen  there are multiple duplicate entries of  Single server (Almost 790)  in CI relationship associated with the same Host name.

I know there is some problem in CI relationship table that's why its showing multiple entries..however each server is associated with Single Host name only just entries are multiple in Ci Relationship table.

Can you please help me and tell me why is this issue coming and how can we solve this?

Hi,

Few thigs to check:

1) Who created or updated those entries? Its discovery or something else.

2) Check if you are actually have those many Database in your oracle database server table.

3) Check the instance details for that server.

Thanks for the reply.

1.These entries were created and updated by discovery between 2016-2019.

2.No we are not having that much entries ,just having 2 entries of each server in Oracle instance table one created by discovery and another created by system.

3. Can't find much details except they were updated recently by the discovery,and in some of them version is also missing.

So we are saying that Bases Cis are fine only entry in Relationship Tables are duplicated.

In Relationship table - what is the create date for these duplicate entries?

Is these relationships created using discovery or using XLS Load File.

Resolution:- If relationships are duplicate means Parent --Relationship Name --Child values are same.

Delete duplicate entries  from CMDB_REL_CI table just keeping 1

Thank you for the reply.

Exactly when i have checked the same CI in their respective table there is only one entry of that CI ,there is some  problem in only CI Relationship table.

And most of these CI relationships were first created between 2016-2019 by discovery.

In the CI relationship table out of the 555000 entries 55000 are created through this particular discovery schedule only.

And that particular discovery is still running means there are chances that in future also these duplicates will be created even after the clean up.
