We are configuring the Cloud Management subscription to utilize our Azure subscriptions. I have configured the Service Principal and the required credentials. My question is related to the MID server in use of discovery of the Azure resources. Obviously our domain MID servers don't have access to Azure. There for what is the best way, since documentation doesn't define it, to get the MID server opened up or put a MID server in Azure and how do we go about doing such a task?
Thank you,
Any direction would be helpful.

Hi Clinton,
You do not need MID Server to discover Azure resources. If you provide proper Azure Client ID, Tenant ID, Secret key then Microsoft Azure discovery module itself will discover Azure resources.

The above video will show you how to setup Azure credentials and Discovery.

Hi
Why MIDs to be installed on cloud to scan Azure devices? If you look at Azure app, you would still see Discovery schedules using MIDs. in this case MIDs make Webservice calls to Azure as long as MID to have credentials and subscribed accounts to scan Azure devices? Have you looked at Azure app out of the box? Correct me if I haven't understood your question.
Thanks

Good day Sashi,
Thank you for the quick reply. How does the MID server pass the needed credential? If I already have the Service Principal setup in Microsoft Azure Cloud>Configuration>Credentials, do I need one from the defined MID server? The reason for my question was did I need a MID server in Azure or can I use on-prem MID servers to discover Azure resources. I attempted a discovery, but not getting any data. I see several warnings Resource does not exist. Should I only choose Web Service to discover for Azure or something else? The documentation doesn't go very deep on setting up a Discovery once you have all the credentials setup in the Configuration section of Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Also, when you say Azure app, to what exactly are you referring; Azure service principal or the Service-Now Cloud Management subscription?
Thank you,
Have a great day

Excellent Vivek,
Thank you for the info and the video, which summed it all up. Although he didn't specifically say not to input a MID server in the Discovery form, he didn't fill in the field, so that says it all. I got data!
Thank you again,
Have a great one.
