Yep in that case you will map it to a static value. Often there might be an error code or something that you can use for your filter that will allow you to say if its these oids or codes set this severity. Either way it's common to manually set a severity. If you feel your question has been answered please mark a response as the answer.

actually our case is that, snmp trap test was sent to our midserver but upon checking our ServiceNow Event Management, their is no snmp trap event receive. so we don't know were is the issue is, why were not receiving the snmp trap.

Edward,

So a few things to check. First check that there are no firewalls blocking SNMP trap propagation from the source to your MID server. Second thing check the mid server logs at the time it was sent to see if there is any errors in there. Third are you using SNMP V3 or V2? Thanks.

Thanks Robertgeen, actually now were able to receive snmp traps however we're getting "severity: Invalid value" and the state: error in the event. do you have any idea on how to fix this. thanks in advance.
