The way that we use our ServiceNow not all company users have access by default. They need to request it via a Service Catalog. The requestor will fill out a few questions including who to mirror access from. This brings up a list of users. I had one user type something in wrong, wiped it out filled in another box in the lookup box and kept getting no results. See the screenshots below.
Me impersonating a non-ITIL User, who miss-typed name for lookup.
The user removed the name and entered User ID
But still kept getting the miss-spelling kept coming back.
However, when I go to the same catalog item. I can see the filter that’s causing the problem. Someone without access doesn’t see the filter options. This seems like a permission thing, but the person is requesting access and didn’t know why it wasn’t working and caused some issues. Is there a way to get the filter to show up for non-ITIL users? Screenshots below my view. And if I add the ITIL role this works, the filter shows up.
Me as myself doing the same thing. Miss typing items I see the filter.
And adding something to the username. I can still see the filter results
Which allowed me to the remove that part from the filter and bring in the userID

How about going to list control and adding the "public" role in the filter roles option? Maybe this will enable non-ITIL see the filter (funnel).

Okay, that did actually work but when I gave that user the public role. I will take it from here not sure if we want all users to have the public role. Thanks for the suggestion.

Adding any role to end user may cost license. Check with account manager.
