We still see too many discovery credential issues with our Windows and Linux servers. Our windows servers are domain joined with a few exceptions that are in work groups. Our Linux servers are not domain joined and have the credential installed via some scripting method.
What I'd like to know if there's a best practice we can implement to keep the passwords in ServiceNow current to eliminate that as the reason for the credential failure, or what some of you have put in place.

Hi bobby,
Who or what is updating the passwords? If it’s something like thycotic or cyberark You could have discovery go fetch the password from their first.
Or if it’s something else maybe you could get a notification sent reminding you to go get the password from where you store them and update SN
Please mark helpful or correct 🙂

Centralized approach will be to use Password Vault - Like Cyber ARK etc.
if Password is maintained locally - since these must be service account and must have set some expiry days in source system. tell them to send you notification to service now discovery team for expiry or Changed Password case.
