Report Date format

Hi,

Has anyone got the problem where the date format on reports differ to the global date formal.

In the system properties I have the date format set to dd-MM-yyyy but in the reports that we run, the dates are displayed in the US format (MM-dd-yyyy).

Is this something anyone has come accross?

Thanks
Dan

This is an interesting find. It looks partially like a bug for running reports. If you let a user use the 'system" defined date format it does not carry over to reports. However, you can go into the user record and set their date format preference to be the desired format. This is likely because it creates the value using some javascript code and the reports are not reading it yet.

I would also suggest submiting a bug to ServiceNow through the HI Server.

To alleviate your problem in the mean time, as a workaround. You an go to the user that would like the different date format and set the desired date format specifically on their user record. Alternatively you could do a "update all" for all users if this was desireable. And then change the default value for that field on the user record to account for new users being created.

Thank you, This is not specific to one user, several people have all mentioned that the date appears incorrectly form them too, I have chekced the personal date settings and they are all in line with the system properties.

I have now raised an incident in Hi to see what they can find.

Thanks for you help.

You're welcome. To be a bit more clear, if you look at a users date format field, by default it will say something like system(yyyy-MM-dd) this is actually different than if you had picked "yyyy-MM-dd" from the list (no system). At least, the reporting app seems to be affected by this. I tested this on the aspen release and by specifically picking a date format option (not the system option) it affected how dates were formatted in the reporting application.

Hello,

We have noticed the same problem. We are probably also going to open a ticket in /hi. Before that, can you please say if you/they found a solution?

Cheers,
David
