Rubrik Discovery Credentials

Does anyone have step-by-step knowledge on how to setup credentials in Rubrik for the OOTB discovery patterns?

The docs state this: 

Ensure Basic Auth credentials are configured for authenticating the REST API calls.

Credential aliases associated with the Rubrik credentials of type Basic Auth must also be created. These aliases serve as input parameters, along with the IP address.

These are used for discovery of all the CI types associated with the Rubrik cluster.

The client has set up a "service account" on the Rubrik system, which has produced an application ID (GUID style) and a secret key, which doesn't seem to align with my expectations of a basic authentication 

Does the service account approach work, or does it need to be a different type of account?

Hi, Rubrik also suggests to use basic authentication to facilitate ServiceNow discovery; please ask your Client to generate username/password and share them with you.

Hello, 
With version 8 the MFA option will be enforced and cannot use a username/password.
Is there a document to explain how we can create an authentication for discovery using the service account within Rubrik?

I do not see there is any option other than Basic Auth with Cred Alias  as per GA Docs.
