To create a Service Map for an SAP ECC (Linux) system, documentation states that an applicative credential needs to be defined outside of the SSH credential. The SSH credential we have is an AD user.
What type of SAP user does service mapping require? Probably not Dialog User, but would it be a System User or Service User?
Can I use the same user "name" for our SSH credential for the SAP Application user?

The SAP credential type manages access to SAP JCo systems. This credential type is available for Discovery and Orchestration.
FYI-In one of our customer env- We also discovered many SAP Applications just using HOST Credentials. No SAP Applicative Creds were used but it was a horizontal discovery.

Any SSH user with the bellow permissions would do, just make sure SAP config data (i.e env variables, path etc.) exists for the user:
You can definitely use the same user name as the SAP app user.
Hope this helps, please feel free to share your findings/additional questions.

Response by the director of our SAP Basis and DBA team: "The SAP User role specified in the documentation is very generic...Is there a list of roles this SAP User need to have in SAP? Does SNOW have specific object names that needs to be assigned to the SAP User?"
