Software discovery - blank installed on

Hi, we have servicenow discovery running for the softwares and see in the Software Installation table, there are few hundred records that do not have "Installed On" field value.

means, it is finding softwares but not telling us which assets it is installed on.   In which real time scenario, this is possible? Any idea?

It sounds more likely that the computer CI that it was associated to was removed and left software orphans. However, that would mean that the system property for cascading deletes has been turned off to occur.



I would remove the orphaned software installs and keep an eye on it for a while. If this continues to happen, someone or some background script is removing computer CIs with removing the downstream children CIs. Which might mean you have orphaned serial numbers, network adapters, etc. as well.
