How to configure periodic inspection of an asset

We have a situation where we need to visually inspect a IT asset on a regular recurring schedule.   We have about 700 assets that need to be inspected for tampering.   I would like to use SN for this as it will help us keep these assets updated and provide an electronic record of the verification.   Does anybody have a recommendation on how to configure this effort?   One of my Co-workers recommended we look into a facilities module.   I appreciate any input.

There are a couple of routes from a product perspective you can take advantage of.

Data Certification plugin. This will allow scheduling the certification task on a recurring basis and certifying task and data in the CI record. I assume you have an inspection date/time associated with the CI.

IT GRC module. A more comprehensive approach. This schedules the audit and verification activity and tracks the results of the physical inspection.

I saw the Data Certification plugin and thought that would be a good fit.   Due to the large number of assets needing to be verified how difficult is it to create a custom entry page to possibly scan and verify onsite to ensure proper date/time of inspection is recorded?

Certification tasks are like any task. The date/time of the update to the certification task is recorded. Here is a screen shot of what I mean. You could add additional fields to the top of the task form just like with any task.
