Tracking mobile device data usage per month?

Just curious if there were any out-of-box solutions, plugins, or best practice ideas for tracking monthly data usage of mobile devices in CMDB.

We would be able to pull reports from our telecom providers to import and update each device monthly, and would like to store each device's monthly usage so we can run reports and formulate some management strategies (should we deactivate data plans after 1 month of zero-usage? 3 months? Etc.)

We'd like to track up to 3 years of usage, so I'm thinking we either create 36 fields (Dec 2022, Jan 2023, Feb 2023, etc.) and update as we go, or maybe it's better to create a related/child table and create a new record each month for each device?

Any ideas on the best way to approach this for reporting and managing mobile data plans?

Hello Jeff,

You can check for integration API, that can be provided by your telecom service provider for the users and that can be dumped into staging tables. Use the Transform Maps to map data to the target tables. You can go for creation for you own table in scoped application referencing to the relevant CI record. Once you are done with the data gathering,use the Performance Analytics to generate the reports where you can get the historical timelines, forecasts, setting thresholds, setting target, getting breakdowns for multiple factor as required by the client.

With this you are going you achieve crisp report for data usage.
