Warranty expiration details update from cmdb

Hi Team,

We have a requirement that need to auto populate " warranty expiration" field in the cmdb table

is this possible to get the value from discovery ?

how we can achieve this

we have asset management . we dint query manufacturer for APIs , as we are starting and analyzing the possibility to achieve this

TBH what is the purpose of this field as it relates to a CI?  It's on all CI Classes since it's on the root CI Class.  Does ServiceNow the creator of this field, expect this to be based on the Warranty of the Hardware CI? The Software Warranty of the OS? The Contracted Workmanship Warranty of the of the contract workers that designed, set up and installed the application Service?  Is this for us to decide?  Service Now could provide documentation on actual intent and purpose and have predefined business rules and scripts for population (especially if we were to use their other products in conjunction), or leave it up to us to guess.
