We have a need to manage "Power Monitoring" devices (used to track energy consumption real time) for things that are plugged into it. (also known as a "Smart meter" see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_meter)
These devices have Serial#, IP address, and assuming could be discovered.
Not sure of the proper CI Class. Assuming it could be a subclass under Facility Hardware / Power Equipment?
Thoughts?

Dave
Did you resolve how to classify the metering devices satisfactorily ?
I have a similar conundrum.

Hi Graham,
Not yet, but I'm thinking of using the cmdb_ci_handheld_computing class, as most of our RFID's are Zebra handheld computer RFID devices, although we do use Truck mount devices too.

Oops, wrong topic. I was thinking this was regarding RFID devices, but now realized it was for Power Monitoring devices.
