What is ServiceNow Proxy Server?

Hello Friend,

Yesterday I came across the term "ServiceNow Proxy Server" without much details. I tried to check further on that over internet I could not find anything. This was in scope of Discovery/ITOM, but not much context. Does anyone know anything? Much appreciate.

Thanks,
Rahul

I dont think so. I came across one of the custom architecture where they had mentioned the ServiceNow Proxy Server, later i realized that Proxy is not a "ServiceNow" proxy server, its just kind of jump server which MID server uses while communicating with the instance. This is NW configuration than the ServiceNow, but MID Server installation supports this configuration.

Thanks,
Rahul

A ServiceNow Proxy Server typically serves as an intermediary that handles network requests, ensuring efficient communication between various components within the ServiceNow ecosystem. While I couldn't find specific details on this term, it's safe to assume that it's an integral part of ServiceNow's ITOM capabilities.Proxy solutions, in general, are designed to enhance security, performance, and control over network traffic. They can be a vital component in managing and optimizing operations within an organization's IT infrastructure.Keep up the curiosity, and don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions or need further clarification!
