Hi,
I would like to know what are these and what is use of these below in servicenow.
Next Hop
Exit Interface Routing Rule
Switch Forwarding Rule
Switchport
DNS Name
I am looking for the some concept of them as in networking terminology with if possible some basic examples, because I would like to understand what exact mean of them.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Prasad,
I believe most of the people get confused at first when they look at this classes like why it is in my CMDB and What is the use of it. If you use Discovery you will find a lot of records of these in your base table.
These are dependencies to your Layer 2, 3 switches and routers. You can find these records as a related list of routers and switch tables. If you disable Routing probe you can stop these things to discover. But as a suggestion do not delete these records, maybe this information might help your network team.
Sometimes when you show your CMDB to your management with the base table they will think this as a garbage. But these are all interlinked with some hardware. So it has a value. I always show the CI's only in the hardware table to my management. By that way, they won't get to see their CMDB base table having 3M records. 🙂
Regards,
Vivek
