Hi all,
I am trying to understand when to work with Software Product Model or a Hardware Product Model.
So, I have DB2 instances, and I want to add a modelID to it. OOB Discovery does not give me one, but I can see in the software installations that DB2 Server is installed. By the way, I am using SAMpro.
I see that a Software Model is created, but only model categories Software License and Software are showing. And I am not able to add any categories, which is possible if it would be a Hardware Product model.
Because I can't add the category DB2 Instance, I can't select the modelID on the CI.
It is possible to change the model category for DB2 Instance to point the CI class to the Software Model class, but still that does not help, the model category is not added to the software model.
Should the software model be reclassified to Hardware? Or do I need to classify an DB2 instance as Hardware and create separate models?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Arno
