Hi Community,
I have a requirement to automatically create multiple Change Tasks whenever a specific Change Template is applied to a Change Request.
The task details such as Short Description, Description, Assignment Group, and other field values will be predefined and remain static for that template. Essentially, each time the template is used, the same set of Change Tasks should be generated automatically.
I am aware that this can be achieved using:
- Business Rules
- Flow Designer
However, I would like to explore if there are any other recommended or out-of-the-box approaches available in ServiceNow for this use case.
Some areas I'm interested in understanding are:
- OOTB Change Management capabilities for template-based task generation
- Change models or task templates
- Any best practices from a maintainability and scalability perspective
Has anyone implemented a similar requirement? If so, what approach would you recommend and why?
Thanks in advance for your insights! 😊
