Check here for some notes on what each is intended to mean.
Set asset states and substates
In the end if the asset is being used it is "in use"
if in the stockroom it should be in stock and have substate of what is is doing there. This normally ends up being either "available" for use, "reserved" for a user, or "pending disposition" until it is going to be in a retired state.

Thanks for your quick response. however my question is, is there information that defines each section. see example below
State | substate | Meaning |
In Use | asset is installed or in use
In Stock | Available | |
In Stock | Reserved | |
In Transit | Available | |
In Transit | Reserved | |
In Transit | Pending disposal
etc...

Hi K watson,
I believe the asset sub state names are a little bit self descriptive but it's important to outline that often customers will define their "own" definition of the substates according to their business processes.
Please keep in mind you can always add substates if needed.
Thanks,
Berny
